Store labels Bible as fiction

Caleb Kaltenbach is the pastor at Discovery Church. He was on a regular shopping trip when he found the Bible’s and sent the following tweet.

"Costco has Bibles for sale under the genre of FICTION Hmmmm..."

Kaltenbach told KCBS in Los Angeles "it's caused a lot of controversy, it's caused a lot of conversation, which I think conversation is good."

Other shoppers weren’t as kind.

"I was completely offended. It's wrong, and I believe that the Bible is real," Shellie Dungan told KTLA-TV.

Costco quickly apologized saying “a small percentage" of Bibles were simply mislabeled by a distributer before they were shipped to the store in Simi Valley, California.

In a statement obtained by Fox News the company owned up to the error. "We take responsibility and should have caught the mistake. We are correcting this with them for future distribution."

The statement finished with "we greatly apologize for the error."

More here.

Speaking on Fox News Kaltenbach said he thinks the incident was "probably was a mistake, I have no idea."

He finished by pointing out the error shows how standing up for beliefs can make a difference.

"We do need to be vocal about our faith.”
