The prank surprised one student and sent three school workers to the hospital from breathing the hot sauce fumes.
Someone replaced the marinara sauce normally used at the cafeteria with a brand of hot sauce called “Da Bomb.”
This stuff isn’t just hot, it’s scalding. One version of the liquid fire has nearly as many Scoville units as pepper spray.
One student who ended up with a plate of the stuff took a bite and knew something wasn’t right. He told cafeteria workers who were already having effects from the fumes they alerted school administrators. That’s when Chicago police got involved.
Cops and officials at the school say they found out who the prankster was and have arrested him.
Because of the student’s age, he will be charged with misdemeanor battery.
