Sgt. Jason Baringhaus re-enlisted in the United States Army Wednesday for the third time.
This time Sgt. Baringhaus took his oath in a pool at Chattahoochee Scuba in Columbus, Georgia.
The soldier said, "I didn't want my third and possibly my last re-enlistment to be the standard, feel-good enlistment."
With an American flag as a backdrop beneath the surface, Sgt. Baringhaus swore to defend the nation.
His first re-enlistment was on a monument in Baghdad featuring giant crossed swords.
The second was in a helicopter over Signal Mountain at Oklahoma's Fort Sill.
