Snow chances increase for Tulsa late Wednesday

The first significant snowfall for Tulsa this season is expected later this week.

Ed Calianese at the National Weather Service office in Tulsa tells us that what starts as a wintry mix on Thursday will change to snow by the afternoon.
"Southeast Oklahoma is going to get more of a freezing rain and sleet event whereas probably north of I-40 probably (is) going to see more of a snow event with some mixed precipitation occurring early on in the situation," Calianese said.
We're told another, less potent round of precipitation is possible later in the weekend as the cold air remains in the area.
