Shuttle system best way to get to the Tulsa State Fair

The Tulsa State Fair Transit System (FTS) takes a big step forward this year, expanding its service to cover every day of the fair, rather than just weekends.

Sarah Thompson, fair spokeswoman tells KRMG that the shuttle system remains the best way to get to and from the fair quickly and easily.

The free service drops passengers off right at the Pavilion, and picks them up again to return them to one of three convenient locations.

Formerly called "Park-n-Ride," the system was renamed, and this year fair organizers decided to make the mass transit option available every weekday evening during the fair, as well as most of the day on weekends.

The fair runs from 5:00 p.m. Sept. 27 through Oct. 7 at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds, 4000 E. 15th St.

With shuttles every 15 minutes, and free parking lots usually full most of the time, FTS saves time, especially when one adds in the time it takes to walk from some of the remote parking spots, and back.

Even the paid parking at the fair can tend to involve a long hike, despite the $10 per entry charge.
