CHEADLE, UK - A shopper got too close to a glass balcony, then went tumbling over, falling 60 feet.
Her lucky break came when she landed on a bed being used for a display. Customers screamed and called for medical help as they watched the woman plummet through the building.
First responders say the woman will recover from bruises to her hip and spine. "We are glad that the customer's injuries are not thought to be serious,” a John Lewis department store worker told The Manchester Evening News. “We wish her all the best for her recovery."
The Guardian reports luck was involved. “Display beds aren't always there,” they write. “That section of the store changes regularly with different displays, and it just happens to be beds at the moment.”
