A man is hospitalized in serious condition after getting shot in the back near East Independence Street and North Memorial Drive.
Police were called to the entrance to Norvell Park near 802 North 78th East Avenue about 2 a.m. Friday.
Tulsa Police Sergeant David Stoltz "arrived on the scene and located a victim that was laying in the roadway. He'd been shot one time just underneath the left armpit area," Tulsa Police Corporal Darren Froemming said.
We're told the victim may be paralyzed from the gunshot wound.
"We've got some witnesses that saw a dark colored Ford Scion pull up in that area just before the shooting and then after the gunshots were heard it was seen leaving the area."
Froemming said the car was occupied by four black males.
"He was rushed into surgery whenever he was taken in and we didn't really get a chance to talk with him."
We're told that the victim may be paralyzed from the gunshot wound.
