Sheriff’s Office makes drug bust worth millions

The bust is the result of a six-month investigation and some modern-day investigating.

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime and Drug Taskforce seized 42 pounds of heroin, 37 pound of ice (pure meth) and 33 pounds of cocaine.

A semi carrying the drugs was stopped near 31st and Memorial. Using modern technology and some old-fashioned detective work, the agency was able to determine when the truck would be coming through the Tulsa area from California.

That time was 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The driver, Restituto L Morales, was arrested.

The initial street value estimate is between four and six million dollars. But Major Shannon Clark with TCSO tells KRMG if those drugs had been distributed as planned, that value would be more like $20 million.

Deputies are now working two seize two houses that may be involved in this drug trafficking case.
