Sex offender caught living near a school, gets tased

A sex offender is arrested on Tuesday after he unknowingly turns himself in for living with his sister near Kendall-Whittier Elementary.

Tulsa police say Daniel Zawec attempted to register as a homeless sex offender.  When he told police he had been living near Columbia and King with his sister, things went down hill quickly.

Zawec was told he would be arrested because he was living within 2000 feet of a school.

Police say the suspect wasn't ready to be wearing handcuffs, so he resisted.

He was then tased after officers tried to get him to comply multiple times.  Once on the ground, officers were able to cuff him.

Zawec still wasn't ready to comply.

Police say he began threatening to kill multiple officers and blow up buildings.

Zawec is currently in the Tulsa County Jail.  He faces multiple counts including resisting arrest, threatening a terrorist act, and being a sex offender within 2000 feet of a school.
