Tulsa, Okla. - A man gets spotted vandalizing or attempting to break into a vending machine, and ends up getting shot after a scuffle.
Police say the incident happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday night, at the Barrington Apartments near 65th and Mingo.
A security officers spotted the unidentified suspect and a fight began.
Police say the suspect was able to put a choke hold on the security guard. Fearful he was about to be choked out, the security guard shot the suspect once in the stomach.
The suspect was transported to the hospital and his injuries are considered non-life threatening.
Police say the case will be turned over to the detectives office, but it's believed the security guard was acting in self-defense.
