School holds Redneck Day, draws criticism

One this is for sure, the food at the celebration had to be really good.
Organizers for the Queen Creek Unified school district say their “Redneck Day” was to poke a little fun at the reality show Duck Dynasty.
Reverend Ozetta Kirby the pastor of the Holy Trinity Community AME Church in Mesa was less than happy. Kirby is also the vice president of the East Valley NAACP and his grandson Marcus is a student.
“I’m sitting here crying and praying,” Kirby told the Arizona Republic.
A director of the Southern Poverty Law Center has also weighed in saying there may be students from deep mountain areas who "maybe ... don’t feel so great about being called rednecks."
Things were already a little heated when a student showed up wearing a Confederate flag.
