The research looked at over 16,000 subjects and covered more than 13 years.
The findings showed regular napping for greater one hour a day had a 33% chance of kicking the bucket before those who stayed awake.
The Daily Mail reports lung disease was the culprit in many of the deaths. Doctors theorize the naps somehow lead to respiratory issues that turn worse in some of the patients.
There is also evidence that catching some z’s during the day could be an indication that health trouble is on the way.
There is good news for those who like ten minute “power naps.”
Indications are nearly 90% of people slept for less than an hour didn’t have a higher risk of early death than those who went nap-free.
