Research says we aren't as good looking as we think we are

The research comes from a report in Scientific American and the findings are fascinating.
Those who agreed to take part were shown three pictures of themselves. One was stock, one was retouched to look better and the third altered to look worse.
You guessed it. Nearly EVERY person picked the “pretty” picture that had been gussied up.
Once told they had chosen the computer aided photo, many didn’t believe the researchers.
The magazine point out this isn’t the first time we’ve overestimated ourselves.
There have been numerous studies suggesting people overplay the odds they will do things like give money to the needy or charities.
Most also believe they are above the bell curve when it comes to everyday tasks like driving and sports.
The work came after Dove soap ran their “Real Beauty” ads claiming most women underestimated their looks.
Just to be clear. This writer fully admits to being homely and rotund. Look at it this way, there's less pressure.
