TULSA - Tulsa police say they've identified human remains found in the city's stormwater drainage system underneath a road in south Tulsa earlier this month.
The initial find happened June 28 when Creek Nation Light Horse Police found part of a skull on land belonging to the casino near E. 81st Street and S. Riverside Drive.
That investigation led to a search of the stormwater system, and on July 9, city workers found additional remains under E. 81st Street near S. Lewis Avenue.
Several agencies were involved with the case, including the FBI, the Medical Examiner's Office, and TPD.
The ME and the Oklahoma State Burea of Investigation has identified the remains as those of Stephen D. Clark, 47.
Police say they had contact with Clark in the area near where his remains turned up in October, 2013.
Clark had a few run-ins with the law, including convictions for assault with a dangerous weapon, making obscene or harrassing phone calls, and malicious injury to property.
Court records indicate a bench warrant was issued for him in May of this year for failure to pay fines and costs related to his 1998 convictions.
His last known address was in Mounds.
Police say they have no indication of foul play, but the ME is still investigating the cause of death.
