Rear-end collision seriously injures Tulsa motorcyclist

An unusual accident has sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with a possible broken leg.

The driver of a Jeep Cherokee was not injured.

The accident happened about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday near 6400 South Sheridan Road.

Tulsa police told News On 6 photojournalist Gary Kruse that the driver of the Jeep was on his way to work as a security guard at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa when the motorcycle came up from behind him and struck the Jeep causing it to roll one time, coming to rest on it wheels.

"The driver who was wearing a seatbelt was uninjured. Not so lucky for the motorcycle rider who possibly suffered a broken leg as he landed several feet from his motorcycle," Kruse said.

Both vehicles were northbound on Sheridan.

There were no other vehicles involved.
