Really cool: Soundwave 'force field' may replace car wiper blades

The new system would use sound waves to keep your windshield spotless.
The technology is coming from McLaren, a company best known for high performance Formula One racing cars as well as high dollar sports cars.
Geek reports chief designer Frank Stephenson has a team working on the futuristic method right now.

The 30kHz waves would help create a force field that would prevent rain, snow, or even those pesky bugs from splattering all over your nice clean glass.

No wiper means no streaky windshields and better vision. It would also improve aerodynamics for higher performance cars.
The better lines would also help improve gas mileage, albeit in small increments.
The company didn’t say when the new technology might be ready for mass use but you can be sure of one thing.
Once car manufacturers get their hands on it, there will be one more high dollar item on the list “additional features.”
