Tulsa, Okla. - After months and months of drought, rain has now become commonplace in Tulsa during the past few weeks.
Many parts of the city were getting substantial rainfall Wednesday afternoon.
News on 6 Meteorologist Travis Meyer said it was likely to continue and perhaps even increase in intensity during the evening.
"Chances of showers and thunderstorms are definitely on the increase as we go through late today and tonight and tomorrow, so the kickoff for Mayfest is going to be a wet one," Trav said. "It does not appear though that there is a significant severe weather risk until about Sunday."
He said the cloud cover would hold temperatures in check and keep things much cooler today than they were on Tuesday.
Trav said to expect another warming trend on Friday.
