The bill has not been sponsored yet but the man who wrote it says there are several in Congress who are considering jumping on-board.
Lobbyist Jack Burkman is the author of the proposal, he writes “imagine your son being forced to shower with a gay man.
That’s a horrifying prospect for every mom in the country."
The Hill reports Burkman’s bill is aimed at Michael Sam, the Missouri All-American who came out as gay just before entering the NFL draft.
"If the NFL has no morals and no values, then Congress must find values for it," Burkman said in a statement. "We are losing our decency as a nation," he concluded.
Atlantic Wire reports Burkman's firm, Burkman Associates has been lauded as powerful but also written off as insignificant.
Certainly the truth lies somewhere in between.
The big question for Burkman now is, who will add their name to the bill.
