Power knocked out to huge chunk of downtown Tulsa

(TULSA) - Power was out for 1,100 customers in downtown Tulsa for close to three hours Wednesday.

Ed Bettinger, with PSO, told KRMG, "A truck struck a power pole at 9th and Denver."

A business owner in the area tells KRMG that a delivery truck may have hit a power line that was drooping across the road.

The outages stretch from 8th and Bolder, West and South to the river and down to approximately 17th street.

Many traffic lights were out during the lunch break.

Bettinger said, "Apparently when the truck hit the pole and it fell over it caused some other problem to something on our system. So we're still trying to figure out what the problem is."
