No wonder Yogi Bear always had the munchies. While Yogi made his home at the fictional “Jellystone Park” the real Yosemite is where pot smokers go to blaze.
Drug busts at the park are up 18% in the six years that records have been kept.
That makes the park four times higher than the next closest park, Yellowstone.
There were 2,393 arrests between 2010 and 2012 at Yosemite compared to 500 at Yellowstone.
One father told NBC Bay Area “we were comparing it to Disneyland, we see a lot more happy faces here in Yosemite than we did in Disneyland.”
The folks who run the park have a theory as to why the numbers are so high. It’s what they call a spring break mentality among visitors.
