TULSA - Tulsa police have arrested a 19-year-old man on a count of first-degree murder in connection with Tuesday's homicide at a south Tulsa home.
According to an arrest and booking report obtained by KRMG, Josiah Israel Sklar was present in the home when Henry "Hank" Laird beat Linda Laird to death with the butt of a shotgun.
Sklar reportedly told police Laird struck his mother approximately 20 times, and that she still showed signs of life but he didn't call for help because he was "afraid of suspect Laird despite stating suspect Larid passed out after beating the victim."
The pair apparently left the home after a relative arrived and found Mrs. Laird dead.
Sklar and Laird went to St. Francis Hospital, about a mile and a half north of the murder scene in a quiet neighborhood southwest of E. 71st St. and S. Yale Ave. and hung around there for about an hour, then went to a nearby Starbucks.
Detectives say video surveillance captured a photo of Lair at that Starbucks, near E. 61st St. and Yale.
Sklar told police he left Laird at the coffee shop and went to the Jack in the Box Restaurant nearby.
The hunt for Laird continues, while Sklar is jailed without bond.
