Police: Mobster Whitey Bulger arrested in California

Authorities say fugitive Boston crime boss James ``Whitey'' Bulger has been arrested by the FBI near Los Angeles after 16 years on the run.

The 81-year-old Bulger is wanted in connection to 19 murders including the shooting death of Tulsa businessman Roger Wheeler at Southern Hills Country Club in 1981.

Retired Tulsa Police Detective Mike Huff worked for 30 years on Wheeler's murder case.

"Obviously I'm elated that they were able to arrest him. I think I was aware of it pretty soon after it happened, word spread pretty fast."

Huff says Bulger is the last one involved in the Wheeler murder who has not pled out or died.

He says Bulger's arrest yesterday brings some closure to the case.

"You know there's a lot of unanswered questions still and there's always been speculation that Bulger had more stuff up his sleeves, so we'll see how that plays out and maybe we'll get some more answers."

Huff called the Wheeler case "the case of a lifetime. It's great to see this arrest."
