Police looking for escaped inmate considered armed, dangerous

An inmate has escaped from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester.

He was reported as missing on Thursday morning.

Department of Corrections spokesman Jerry Massie says 27-year-old Kenneth Hammick II was last seen during a head count Thursday morning.

Hammick is described as a white male, 5-foot-11, 154 pounds with brown hair and hazel colored eyes.

Records show that Hammick is serving a four year sentence out of Cherokee County for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

He was set to be released in August, 2014.

The DOC says Hammick is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who sees Hammick or knows his location is asked to call the Department of Corrections escapee hotline at 866-363-1119.
