Police investigating shootout in Sand Springs neighborhood

A woman is in custody in connection with a shootout in Sand Springs this week.

Police report a group of people believed another group had stolen a safe filled with money and guns from their home near Birch and Ash.  A short time later, shots were fired.

A neighbor tells us the whole situation was scary.

“I heard a loud noise,” the neighbor said.  “I’m a person, I guess, that wants to know what’s happening.  Instead of hiding, like most people did, I ran out to see what’s going on.”

There have been no reports that anybody was actually hit.

Audrey Watts has been booked into jail. More arrests could be coming.

Police are looking for a metallic blue car with writing on the lower rear window.  Anyone with information regarding the vehicle is asked to call the Sand Springs Police Department.
