Police chase ends with pickup crashing into fence

Tulsa, Okla. — A residential fence has damage after the driver of a pickup truck won't stop during a police chase that ended near 800 South Rockford.

The chase started when an officer tried to stop 42-year old Windell Don Mangrum who was trying to elude him by driving onto a convenience store parking lot.

“The second responding officer discovered that the suspect had struck a manhole casing (and) lost control and crashed into an iron fence surrounding a home,”

TPD Cpl. James Stump said.

Police were trying to stop Mangrum for a traffic violation near 1100 South Utica Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

He was arrested for eluding police after a former conviction of a felony, drug possession, no driver license or insurance verification, taxes due the state and an improper tag.
