The bump in pay puts elected county officials’ salaries at just under $105,000 annually.
Most of the elected officials were in favor of the pay increase, but one county commissioner was not.
“A lot of our employees are being paid much less money than the elected officials.” Tulsa County Commissioner John Smaligo said.
“I just think that we need to be focusing our resources in that area as opposed to those at the top of the pay scale.” Smaligo added.
The Tulsa County Budget Board green-lit the pay raise to be considered by county commissioners.
