BA Parks Department Reacts

An investigation is ongoing into just what happened at Nienhuis Aquatic Facility in Broken Arrow this weekend. Stephanie Higgins told KRMG that the situation puts everyone in a tough spot.

"We have a stellar record from our pools and for something like this to happen is shocking. But we also have to look at the legal side of everything that this individual is innocent until proven guilty."

Higgins says they do background checks on all of their lifeguards but if they're under eighteen information can be limited. The accuesed lifeguard is seventeen. The lifeguard's name has not been released since he is a juvenile.
