Owasso approves $500,000 incentive for new employer

The Owasso City Council met last night and agreed unanimously to offer up $500,000 to attract a new employer to the area.

The city council chose not to disclose the identity of the company, as they said it may jeopardize the deal. They did say that the company is a worldwide operation and would bring around 1,000 new jobs to Owasso.

Owasso was on a list of 10 potential cities to call this mystery business home. Now, that list has been narrowed to two, and Owasso is still in the running.

If Owasso is chosen, the city council says this company is willing to invest at least $90 million into the project.

Also, a one million square-foot building would be needed to house the business. It would likely be place in the Cherokee Industrial Park located near Highway 75 and 66th St. North.
