For more than a week, OSBI agents have been investigating allegations of threats made to a public official. These threats have targeted Rep. Skye McNeil (R-Bristow) in reference to a bill she authored this session, House Bill 1999. Agents continue to track leads on those communicating the possible threats, which have come in varying formats including telephonic, mail, and social media.
Threatening, harassing, or intimidating an individual can be felony crime. OSBI has original jurisdiction involving such threats to public officials. It is one of the few crimes OSBI does not need a request to investigate from a law enforcement agency.
