'Operation Scooby Doo' nets 3 arrests in pharmacy robberies

Police have arrested three people in connection with a string of robberies at Tulsa Walgreen's pharmacies in the span of a few weeks.

Detectives nicknamed their dragnet "Operation Scooby Doo," and say their three suspects have no prior history of criminal behavior.

Jason Bruner, 26, Ashley McAnelly, 21, and Diedra McAnelly, 23, all face multiple counts of robbery by force or fear.

TPD made the arrests beginning just a couple of hours after the most recent robbery, Tuesday morning.

The robbers' MO was generally to hand a pharmacy employee a note, implying they had a gun and demanding pills.

Investigators say the three took turns pulling the robberies.

It's unclear if they were using the drugs themselves, or selling them to others.

A large effort by uniformed officers, detectives, the fugitive task force, and police administration combined to make the arrests possible, TPD says.

They reportedly waited to make the arrests until they felt they had built an airtight case against all three suspects.
