One person killed in latest round of Oklahoma winter weather

The storm dumped more than a foot of snow on some parts of the state Monday.

Matt Lehenbauer, with the Woodward County Emergency Management office, says several roofs collapsed because of the weight of the snow.

That led to the death of one person in Woodward.

Lehenbauer says, “One of those instances we’ve had recently was a partial roof collapse on a home. One individual has been killed in that collapse.”

The victim's identity has not been released.

Part of the roof also collapsed at the Walmart.

Woodward is out near the panhandle in one of the six counties where the roads were closed.

Many schools and businesses will be closed Tuesday.

A State of Emergency has been declared for 56 counties.

Residents in the town are still trying to get over a storm in April of 2012 when six people were killed during a tornado.
