One inmate captured, one on the loose from Wagoner County jail

Two jail inmates escaped from the Wagoner County jail Monday evening.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says they tracked down Larry Cotton Tuesday morning.

Cotton is in jail for possession of stolen property and drug charges.

Mickey Wayne Staggs is still on the run.

Investigators describe the 37-year-old white man as 5 feet 6 inches, 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Staggs is in jail for eluding police and possession of a fire arm after conviction.

The criminals assaulted a jail guard and took him hostage.

They released him after they got his keys.

Deputies had roadblocks set up and were looking for a gold Ford Explorer in the area of Highway 51 going into Coweta.

Roadblocks were also established in Broken Arrow at Highway 51 and 241st East Avenue.

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office is holding a news conference at 10:00 a.m.

KRMG is there and will have the latest information on FM 102.3 and AM 740 News Talk KRMG.
