PAWNEE, Okla. - Emergency responders are on scene of a fatal accident involving a train and a semi-truck near Pawnee.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the crash happened around 1:00 P.M. Wednesday west of Pawnee on Highway 64.
Representatives from Burlington Northern Santa Fe say the 75-car train was heading from Tulsa to Enid.
BNSF says the speed in the area is 49 MPH. Officials don't know how fast the train was going at the time of the collision.
The train struck a semi tractor trailer and it burst into flames.
First responders were unable to get the truck's driver out of the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
They were unable to get the lone driver/occupant of the vehicle out and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
