Oklahoma judge suggests woman get sterilization procedure

Happening today... A 34-year-old woman is scheduled to be sentenced in Oklahoma City federal court after undergoing a procedure at the judge's suggestion.

An Oklahoma City newspaper reports Summer Creel is an admitted drug user who got involved in a counterfeit check ring.

Last June, U.S. District Judge Stephen Friot suggested Creel undergo a medical procedure to prevent her from having any more children. In exchange, he would consider it during her sentencing.

The judge noted Creel had already given up her parental rights to six of her seven children.
