Oklahoma football fans react to SI articles on OSU

Football fans react to the recent Sports Illustrated series, "The Dirty Game" on Oklahoma State University.

KRMG was at the OU/TU football game in Norman on Saturday, and fans of all ages had opinions about what is being reported by SI.

One long-time OU fan, who has been coming to the games and tailgating in the same spot for quite a while, thought that OSU had probably done some of the things that were listed in the articles, but he also said there was a time when OU had gotten into trouble too.

Eric Cabot, an Oklahoman who is a Texas A&M supporter, says, “…I haven’t read Sports Illustrated in over 10 years, and now I’m reading it.  So, they did a great job by selling magazines.  At great expense of other people.”

Most of the fans said that they think that the allegations against OSU were probably 30 percent true.

They also think that there are problems in every program as well.

Eric thinks, “I think it happens at every school.  So why single them out?...It’s impossible for coaches to monitor them all the time.”

Several younger OU and TU football fans, at the game with their families, thought the situation was pretty unfortunate.

One young man told KRMG, “I just think that that it was a very bad thing, it was just very bad.  Another young man said, “I just think the scandal will work itself out.”
