(WASHINGTON)- Oklahoma congressman Markwayne Mullin is spending Memorial Day visiting troops overseas.
A spokesman for Georgia Rep. John Barrow said the congressman is part of a bipartisan congressional delegation led by Minnesota Republican Michele Bachmann.
"It's truly an honor to spend this Memorial Day with our troops aboard who are working day in and day out to protect our nation," said Mullin. "Throughout our country's history, our service members have laid down their lives to guard the freedoms we all cherish."
The delegation is also meeting with military officials to discuss strategy and planning updates.
Barrow's spokesman, Richard Carbo, said the group includes Florida Democrat Patrick Murphy, New York Democrat Sean Maloney, and Texas Democrat Pete Gallego.
Carbo says that for security reasons, the group's whereabouts are being kept confidential until their visit is over.
