Oklahoma City officer shoots, kills armed suspect

KRMG has learned an Oklahoma City officer shot and killed an armed suspect Wednesday evening on the shoulder of I-35.

Police say officers were in the area running license plates.  Around 6:30 p.m., one of the license plates came back as stolen.

A stop was made, but an unnamed man and woman inside the vehicle exited and started to run.

Police say the woman was quickly caught and taken into custody.

The man kept running along the highway, but eventually, officers caught up to him.  This is where things went wrong quickly.

Police say the suspect began waving his gun at officers.  Fearing for their lives, the suspect was then shot and killed.
