The experts say a significant weather pattern that’s been going strong since 2010 has made it tough for insurance companies in Oklahoma to keep up with all the claims.
John Wiscaver with Farm Bureau Insurance tells KRMG the frequency and severity of hail storms in recent years has led to this change.
Wiscaver says hail storms are more impactful than even large tornadoes.
“You just have far more vehicles and more rooftops involved when you have a large widespread hail event.” Wiscaver said.
He says to those people who consider not claiming hail damage on you insurance that you pay those premiums for a reason and you should make the best decision for your specific case.
With all that said, we are approaching the peak of tornado season in Oklahoma, so storm damage is still possible this year.
