Officers catch convicted gang member during traffic stop

A Wednesday night traffic stop turns into so much more for Tulsa officers.

Police say they pulled over Benjamin Gibbs near 71st and Garnett because he had no tail lights.

It turned out, Gibbs' tail lights were the least of his problems.

Police say they searched his car and found two guns missing their serial numbers, paraphernalia, meth residue, and tools used for burglaries.  Officers also found items believed to be stolen.

Once in custody, Gibbs was anything but quiet.  He admitted to owning the guns and paraphernalia.

Plus, he confessed to robbing multiple Tulsans.

Police say a search of Gibbs' name brought up an outstanding warrant, and he's a known gang member in California.

He will now be added to the Tulsa gang registry.
