Tulsa, Okla. — A man is arrested for burglary and stealing from a 4-star Purple Heart recipient. Tulsa police arrested 36-year-old Mark Smith Jr. near 3700 South Harvard just before 10 p.m. Monday. An officer had stopped Smith for not wearing a seatbelt when Smith parked the truck and ran away. We're told Smith hid in a backyard, then broke into a house where the homeowner confronted him. Smith was apprehended nearby. Officers say Smith was in a stolen truck, bearing a stolen tag. Smith is in jail for burglary, possessing stolen property, stealing a truck and false impersonation. He is also a convicted felon.
