The new Chapman Dining Hall on the Campus of Rogers State University is now open.
The new semester will begin with students not only having a new place to hang out and grab lunch, but they’ll also be safe in case of bad weather.
The new facility has a full basement underneath that will be used as a storm shelter when severe weather moves through.
“The fact that you have a completely underground shelter facility with backup generating power is just totally awesome.” RSU President Dr. Larry Rice said.
The shelter can hold about 800 people. That means all on-campus residents can fit inside.
