Perhaps you remember the iconic bumper sticker that came out after he left office.

As Bush ended his second term in office his approval ratings were just 40% and they fell even further in the first months out of office.
But those numbers have begun to turn and now Gallup says for the first time since 2005 more people like the former President than those who don’t
Bush’s approval numbers how stand at 49% with a disapproval of 46%.
The polling company says former president keeping a low profile likely has something to do with the numbers not bouncing up more quickly.
Bush still trails other recent American leaders who all rank at 60% favorable or above but his number is expected to continue to climb.
