New player in home security market promises next generation services

Tulsa has a brand new player in the home security field. Cox Communications has jumped in with both feet after deciding there was a need for a newer and better product.

"You can tell the market needs it and there are a lot of customers that are interested to it made sense for us to get into the market" Matt Byers told KRMG news. Matt if the project manager for the new service, he told us the Cox system will have some really cool features.

“You can control your lights from here, you get message alerts pushed to you, it’s the automation and it’s just the beginning” Matt told us. It won‘t be long before leaving home without a key will be a thing of the past.

“Very soon we’re going to launch door locks” Matt began. “This door lock will allow you to remotely lock and unlock your deadbolt.”

One of the features that seemed the most useful is the door alert. Let’s say you have a child coming home from school every day and you want to know when they are home and safe. The system will send you an email when the door is opened and closed. It will include the time and which door was used.

Matt assured us you can so all of this with just about any device. "Smart phone, iPhone, iPad, web access you can access this entire security system and check on how your home is doing."

Matt even has good news for those who are renting. Be it a home or apartment you can now have a system because this one can be set up entirely through wireless access.

“We don’t have to do a lot of infrastructure changes to your apartment and the best thing is if you move this product is portable, it’ll go with you.”
