The National Rifle Association released a new ad Thursday, bashing President Obama's idea on gun control and the ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines.
NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre told a crowd of more than 600 in Nashville, Tenn., that Obama's proposals for gun control are efforts to "dismantle the Second Amendment".
"For our Second Amendment freedom, Mr. President, we will stand and fight throughout this country as Americans for our freedom, we promise you that," LaPierre said. "Every single one of us from one end of the country to the other, we will stand and fight."
LaPierre also said a universal background check would not stop criminals or the mentally ill from getting firearms.
