New anti-meth law now in effect in Okahoma

A new anti-meth law is now in effect in Oklahoma.

It requires pharmacists in Oklahoma to start sending profiles of people who purchase pseudoephedrine to a multi-state registry.

The new procedure went into effect today and is the result of a law passed by the Oklahoma Legislature.

KRMG is told that the purpose of the registry is to restrict the amount of the popular cold and allergy medicine trafficked across state lines.

Law enforcement officials say pseudoephedrine is an ingredient used in manufacturing methamphetamine.
