Mother said to be intoxicated while driving with child, puppy

KRMG has learned a Glenpool mother was taken into custody early Saturday morning, after being pulled over for driving intoxicated with her 6-year-old daughter inside the car.

Police say Brandi Girod's car was seen weaving in the area of 141st and Hickory.

When officers confronted her, she admitted to not having a license or insurance.

Girod told officers she had just gotten out of rebab, and she had taken her child to Okmulgee to buy a puppy.  Plus, she's said to have repeated, "I'm almost home."

The suspect showed obvious signs she was intoxicated.  When officers searched her car, they found a plastic cup containing alcohol inside her cup holder.

Girod was then arrested and faces numerous counts including child endangerment, and DUI.

Police say the suspect's husband picked up his child and her new puppy.
