Mother, children flee home after son sets it on fire

A mother and several children were forced to escape their home yesterday morning after her 29-year-old son set it on fire.

Tulsa police say Ronald Berry set a box on fire near East 56th and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.  This happened around 3 a.m.

The box then ignited the outside of the home.

Fire crews were able to make it to the scene quickly and prevented the fire from spreading to the inside of the house.

Police say the family made it out of the home without any major injuries.

The son was transported to the Tulsa County Jail.

He faces a count of first-degree arson and one count of endangering human life.
