Neighbors called police when they heard the child screaming “don’t kill me,” and “do you love me?”
The little boy's mother Crystal Hostetter, and her lesbian partner, Sarah McClain, told police they were punishing the child for misbehaving.
Police Sgt. Todd Garner said the boy has psychological issues serious enough to require him to be on several medications, but the women refuse to buy or administer them.
The Douglasville County Sentinel reports Hostetter was asked, “You just think that you know more than the doctors” Her one-word answer was “yes.”
The extent of the deficits are not known but Garner confirmed the boy has been hospitalized in the past for the troubles.
The women say the child hates sticky things, so they devised a way to use that as punishment. That’s when they put him in the dog cage, poured syrup and kitty litter on him. They then forced him to hold a brick over his head for fifteen minutes.
Cops also report the home was infested with fleas when they arrived.
Both women were arrested and charged with cruelty to children. The boy was placed with an adult caregiver.
