Mom charged with child neglect released from jail because she is pregnant

Muskogee Police arrested Michael Keplinger and Sarah Jameson following a welfare check of two small children at a Muskogee motel.

Court documents indicate that Keplinger and Jameson both appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance when officers made contact with them.

Officers say they found two empty bags of a synthetic marijuana known as K2. Keplinger and Jameson admitted to officers that they smoked the K2 earlier.

The couple's two small children were in the smoke-filled room at the time. Officers say the smoke is so thick that it took about 10 minutes to clear the room.

The room was also filled with old food, trash, clothes, cigarette butts and dirty diapers.

Jameson's attorney was able to convince a judge to lower Jameson's bond so she could be released from jail because she is 8.5 months pregnant.
