Man walks up to home with a shotgun, threatens death

A Collinsville suspect spent his Friday threatening to kill several people.

Everything started around 3:15 p.m., at a home near South 7th and West Main.

Police say Joseph Ferriman walked up to the home carrying a loaded shotgun.  An unidentified woman answered the door.

She told 911 Ferriman demanded an unnamed man inside the home come out, so he could kill him.

When officers arrived at the scene, Ferriman went into custody without incident.

Things changed when he arrived at the jail.

Police say Ferriman became combative and threatened to fight officers.  In order to subdue him, officers used a Taser.

After being restrained, Ferriman made one last threat.  Police say he had several officers, "in his crosshairs."
